You are unique and you deserve to be treated as a unique individual. As a small team of highly experienced and dedicated professionals with high levels of specialist qualifications and a breadth of knowledge, we know how to support traumatised adults, young people and families.
In addition to our qualifications and professional experience, we also too have lived experience of traumatic and adverse experiences. This means we are often able to relate to complex or confusing difficulties at different levels. We can sometimes offer a deeper level of compassion and understanding, which is gained from real experiences, that cannot be found in books or theory.
We are very flexible in how we work. Although we will usually start with the most evidence based approach, we are able to adapt our approach to what works better, or what might most be needed by you, at the time. For example, by using our fundamental understanding of the brain and its development, and how this might be adversely impacted by trauma, we approach assessments from a developmental Neuropsychological and Physiological (bottom up) perspective to begin with. However, we take in to account many other approaches in our formulations of difficulties and will always tailor this to your needs.
Our assessments include multi disciplinary team (MDT) input. Therapeutic treatments include a variety of evidence based therapies, with a combination of interventions (including Trauma Focused CBT, EMDR, Theraplay, Therapeutic Life Story Work, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy) and aimed to provide the best outcomes for the children, families and individuals we work with.
